Thundering Herd
center Robert Goff
The 2011-2012 Marshall men’s basketball team had an anchor
in the paint. Robert Goff transferred from Hutchinson Community College in
Kansas and immediately had an impact on the program.
Goff was not the only Herd player to transfer to Marshall
last season. Dennis Tinnon, a transfer from Kansas City Community College,
joined Goff in Marshall’s frontcourt. Goff said having Tinnon go through the
same thing with him helped tremendously.
“It was great,” Goff said. “Just having somebody come in
with the same experience as me.”
The 6-foot-9 center is entering his senior year and said he
is thrilled for the season to be here.
“Words can’t even explain how excited I am,” Goff said. “It
is just going to be a tremendous year.”
The Indianapolis native had knee surgery in the offseason
and said he has been working on getting back into shape.
“I have mostly been getting my conditioning back from having
knew surgery,” Goff said. “Working on my jump shot from 15 to 17 feet.”
Goff said Thundering Herd fans can expect more out of him in
his final year.
“They can expect more effort and more rebounding,” Goff
said.
The Thundering Herd finished the 2011-2012 with 39.8
rebounds per game. Goff finished the 2011-2012 season averaging 6.1 points per
game and 4.6 rebounds.
